Adventure Kids Birthday Cakes

Adventure cakes are a bit of a misnomer because they are not made with cake at all and there is no baking involved. Instead a cardboard box frame is decorated with interesting treats, like animal biscuits, wafers, smarties and anything else that takes your fancy. This sort of "cake" makes an interesting alternative to the normal types of kids birthday cakes that most people make. And children love them.

The size of the box you choose to use will depend on what you are going to make. But just about any clean box may be used including ice cream cartons, shoe boxes and even wine boxes.

How to make Adventure Kids Birthday Cakes

The first step is to find a box or boxes that you can use to create the required shape. You may need to cut, stick and even staple to get the shape you want. Then cover the entire framework with aluminium foil.
