Motorcycle Racing

Motorcycle racing is a sport also known as Moto racing or Bike racing. This sport involves motorcycles racing against each other on a pre-decided circuit. The circuit can be tarmac-based or off-road. The international body for the sanctioning of motorcycle racing is the FIM. Although most nations have their own governing bodies to manage the sport at their level, other independent governing bodies also exist, which operate on both national and international levels.

Road Motorcycle Racing

Road racing is primarily on tarmac-based roads, which can either be a closed public-road or a purpose-built racing circuit. The most famous format of this type of racing is the Grand Prix motorcycle racing. This format has three categories, the 125cc, the 250cc and the 800cc or MotoGP. The motorcycles used for these races are not production motorcycle, but are based on prototype machines. Superbike racing, another format of the sport, is road-base motocycle racing that uses production motorcycles often modified to suit the purpose. These modified vehicles have four-stroke engines of 800cc and 1200cc, for the twin category and 750cc and 1000cc, for four-cylinder machines. Supersport Racing
