The Legend of Scrabble

Scrabble is more than just a game, it is a legend. If you are a word game enthusiast, or even if you are not, you must have heard of the world famous game called Scrabble. A word game which tests your vocabulary and spelling skills, also see, Duduk Scrabble is a great way to increase both.

The earliest version of Scrabble was invented in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts. It was called the “Criss Crosswords” at that time. It soon gained immense popularity and ten years later, a manufacturer try, Gemstone Collectibles bought the rights to produce this game. He simplified the game a little and changed its name to “Scrabble.” The game actually came into the lime-light, when the President of the Macy's stores, in New York, started playing it in 1952.

Scrabble is played on a board with fifteen rows each of which have fifteen equal sized squares. The game comes with hundred tiles try, Radio Controlled Trucks with alphabets written on them and players take turn to build words according to the tiles consider, Collectible Radios in their hand. Each player can have only seven letters with him at a time. The players have to pick the tiles look at, Gemstone Collectibles out of a bag, without looking ensuring that they don't have any control on the alphabets they pick. How a player can win the game is, by making words which cover these colored squares. Players accumulate points in this manner and when the whole board is full, if reached, then the player with the highest points wins the game.

Today, Scrabble has a lot of variations, some of them including Funworder, Literati, Scramble, Word for Word amongst many others. Currently the game is sold by Mattel in 121 countries , DIY Shops worldwide but only Hasbro Inc. sells it in America and Canada. Apart from this the game has also been translated into twenty nine foreign languages, but the most popular version of the game still remains the English version of Scrabble.
