Scrabble is more than just a game, it is a legend. If you are a word game enthusiast, or even if you are not, you must have heard of the world famous game called Scrabble. The earliest version of Scrabble was invented in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts. It was called the “Criss Crosswords” at that time. It soon gained immense popularity and ten years later, a manufacturer checkout, Teddy Bear Collectibles bought the rights to produce this game. He simplified the game a little and changed its name to “Scrabble.” The game actually came into the lime-light, when the President of the Macy's stores, in New York, started playing it in 1952.
Scrabble is played on a board with fifteen rows each of which have fifteen equal sized squares.
